Games! Do I really need to say more? We have many types of games. Check out some of the great things you can do at the library. If you have any game suggestions, no matter the format, please let us know.


Board Games

Looking to hang out and play some board games with your kids?  Grab a game from the Children's Department and pull up to a table. Find popular titles including:

Chess Club & Lessons

Looking to improve your memory and concentration? Wanting to practice logical thinking skills? Make the smart move and join us for a few games of Chess. Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-8pm at Ottawa Library.


Not sure where to begin with chess? Join Beginner's Chess Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Looking for more of a challenge? Intermediate Chess might be more your speed. Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.


Desktop Computers

Three (3) desktop computers are located in the Children's Department reserved for child use. These computers are loaded with Magic Desktop, a curated collection of games, videos, and activities for children 2-12.


LEGO @ the Library

Calling all young builders and creative minds! Join us at the library for an exciting adventure in LEGO free-building. Unleash your imagination, create your own masterpieces, and connect with fellow builders. Our LEGO sessions are packed with fun and possibilities, all while fostering teamwork and problem-solving skills. It's the perfect opportunity to let your creativity run wild, so bring your friends and come build with us. We can't wait to see what you'll create! During these events, teens will build in the Cave, and children will build in the activity room.


Minecraft Education

Discover a world of education like never before with Minecraft Education at our library. Immerse yourself in a unique blend of fun and learning, where you can build, explore, and problem-solve your way through exciting educational adventures. Minecraft Education is not just a game; it's a dynamic tool for students of all ages to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Join us and embark on a journey where the boundaries of the virtual world merge with the endless possibilities of knowledge. Get ready to dig into a new era of interactive and immersive learning right here at the library. Watch the calendar for scheduled dates. Space is limited and the sessions fill up fast.


Video Games

Yes, we have video games, too. Looking for something to play at home? We have Xbox, PlayStation, and Wii games available for check out.
