Ottawa Library will be open for limited hours beginning May 28, 2020. Patrons will be allowed a 30-minute time frame to use the library. Until further notice, our hours will be as follows:
Monday-Thursday 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
Friday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
We will monitor the number of patrons in the library, allowing 10 in reference and 25 in circulation. At staff discretion. we may ask patrons to wait to enter and/or ask patrons to exit to allow others in. The 6 feet social distancing guidelines will be in place, and patrons are asked to respect them. While not required, the use of face masks is encouraged and recommended. Patrons are responsible for determining their own comfort level for being around others.
Patron services that will be available include: materials checkout, holds, copies, faxes, and computer use. When leaving, we would appreciate it if patrons would exit the library through the east door on the ground floor level. No in-person programs or technology help will be offered at this time, and no donations will be accepted unless prior arrangements have been made.
Staff has been working to prepare the library to safely open in phases which will eventually lead to the return of regular hours and full patron services. Please watch for announcements through press releases to KOFO radio, the Ottawa Herald, the Ottawa Library Facebook page, ottawalibrary.org, our answering machine message at 785-242-3080, and new posts on our front door.
