Support the Library

Libraries are special to many of us, but to provide a better service for the community we must often rely on the community for help. There are many ways that you can be involved with our library.

Did you know you can donate to your local library? Yes! More books, more programs, and special events. Consider a gift this holiday season.

Your tax-deductible gift benefits everyone and greatly enhances the services that the public receives. A great big THANK YOU is extended to all who choose to better their community in this special way.

Donate

Your donations help provide supplies for programs, new materials, and support services for our community. Monetary donations can be made in-person and online. If you wish to help support a specific venture or something more tangible, we also have a Wish List of some items we would like to add to our services.

Employment

Ottawa Library is a wonderful place place to work, but that makes for a very low turnover rate. Positions available will be posted through the Adult Events feed. Volunteers have access to available positions before they are posted. We are always accepting applications and will hold them for several months.

Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library is a local charity that works fund raisers, assist with book sales, and help make decisions about community events. Funds raised by the Friends of the Ottawa Library go to reading initiatives throughout the community. Learn more about Friends of the Ottawa Library HERE.

Shop

Yes, that's right. You can help the library by shopping. When shopping online, you can select Ottawa Library Endowment Fund through Amazon Smile and a small portion of the proceeds is sent to the library. You can also find O-Town Reads shirts, library branded materials, and much more at our Circulation desk.

Volunteer

Are you needing to get a few hours of volunteering to pad your college application, needing to do community service hours, or just feel generous and want to help the community? Consider volunteering with the Ottawa Library. Email Jean Woods for more information.
