Building Project

The Ottawa Library is excited to announce a new chapter in our story. May of 2018, a committee was formed to discuss, research, and plan the future of the library. The committee spoke with library design specialists and architects, toured area libraries, and brainstormed the needs of the community and how those needs could be met.

Architect

The Northeast Kansas Library System, NEKLS, interviewed and vetted several architecture firms. NEKLS chose a Lawrence-based group, Sabatini Architects, for member projects. The building committee has met with Sabatini Architects several times to come up with a beautiful, affordable library that meets the needs of the community while fitting the hometown feel of Ottawa.
