Bicycles

Borrow a bicycle and "check-out" the beautiful rail trails around Ottawa.

Description

Ottawa Bike Share is a program made possible by United Methodist Church. Three (3) larger-framed and two (2) smaller-framed cruiser bikes with baskets and locks are available for check-out. Before checking out a bike, please review the Release of Liability Waiver and Registration example.

Checkout

Bicycles check out for one (1) day, are not subject to renewals, and are to be returned by 5PM the next business day. Bicycles are checked out from our Circulation Desk, located on the lower level of the library.

An Ottawa Library card is preferred, but is not required to check out the bicycles.

Borrowers must be at least eighteen (18) years old with a photo ID. Children twelve (12) to seventeen (17) years old may ride, but must have an adult or guardian check out the bicycle for them.

Overdue materials and fines

We do not charge fines on overdue bicycles. Bicycles kept longer than the approved time may be reported as missing or stolen. If the bicycle is not returned, the borrow may be responsible for the full replacement cost of the bicycle as noted on the registration form.
