Books, Babies, and Play

Enjoy an interactive storytime with your baby for fun with books that encourage early literacy. Activities include songs, fingerplays, and body movement. The program will help improve motor, sensory, and social skills through caregiver and baby playtime. Storytime is followed by an open playtime that gives parents/caregivers a time to socialize with others.

These programs are geared toward the ages listed. Attend the storytime that fits your child(ren) and your schedule. No registration is required for any of our weekly storytimes.

6 by 6 – Ready to Read

All of our storytime groups touch on the six early literacy skills that children need to acquire by the time they are six years old and ready to learn to read.

The Six Skills:
  • Have fun with books
  • Notice print all around you
  • Talk, talk, talk
  • Look for letters everywhere
  • Tell stories about everything
  • Take time to rhyme

Parents/caregivers are required to attend storytime with children. We encourage you to actively participate with your children in storytime activities to enhance their learning experience!
