The Ottawa Library and Prairie Paws Animal Shelter are partnering to teach our kids about the importance of reading and volunteerism. We also want our children to know what it is to be responsible pet owners, what it is to be kind to our animals and how to be community advocates for our homeless pet population.
This program is for parents and children ages thirteen and under to do together.
- Parents and children attended a small training together.
- Learn to socialize with animals.
- Organize supply drives.
Read any day of the week to a shelter animal between the hours of 8am and 4pm at Prairie Paws Animal Shelter. When you reach each level you will have your picture taken with your favorite animal and book. The Ottawa Library has specially curated books for this program located in the Children’s Department. Additionally, the Ottawa Library will recognize you on their Kidz Club bulletin board located next to the children’s activity room when you reach each level. Once you reach SUPER HERO level you will receive a certificate and prize from Prairie Paws!!!
